How is WellFirst Health covering COVID-19 testing?

WellFirst Health is waiving in-network cost-sharing, including copayments, coinsurance and deductibles, for COVID-19 diagnostic testing during this public health emergency. WellFirst Health will cover the test and doctor visit at no cost to members when the basis for the visit is related to testing for COVID-19.

As a community health plan we're committed to taking the necessary steps to limit the spread of this virus and promote access to screening and testing.

Getting needed care

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers guidance on symptoms and when you should be tested. We encourage using the SSM Health Virtual Visit and nurse advice line to limit the potential spreading of the virus among people in waiting rooms and medical staff.

  • Virtual Visits: SSM Health Virtual Visits include COVID-19 screening at no cost to members.

  • Nurse advice line: we offer a free telephone service for WellFirst Health members. It's available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can reach the nurse advice line at 1-833-925-0398.

Practice prevention

Everyone should continue to take everyday preventive actions to limit the spread of respiratory illness:

  • Frequent, careful handwashing (at least 20 seconds)

  • Coughing into a tissue or one's inner elbow

  • Avoid touching your nose or face

  • Staying home when ill
